The Central Washington University Men’s Rugby team has built their reputation as an elite rugby program in the United States. Building on the tradition of over 40 years of first-class rugby tradition the program has firmly cemented itself as the most recognizable collegiate program in the Pacific Northwest.

With the conclusion of the 2009-2010 season the team had successfully defended their 3rd straight Pacific Northwest League Championship with an impressive 380 points for and 72 points against with an average score line of 48 to 9 and an undefeated League record of 8-0.

In 2011 the Wildcats became inaugural members of the Pacific Conference of the College Primer Division now known as Division 1-A. In now the third year of the competition, the Wildcats are currently the only independent team facing opponents from both the West and newly formed California Conferences. Central will continue to compete in the 2012-13 D1-A regular season; however the Wildcats have elected not to challenge the #2 California seed for entry into the D1-A post season competition. Central Washington University has been represented by players and coaches at various levels within USA Rugby including: USA National Team, North American 4 Series, USA 7’s, USA Collegiate All-Americans, USA U-20, USA U-19.

With a coaching staff that boasts a former 2007 US Men’s National Team Manager and 2009 Collegiate All-American Coaching staff member in Director of Rugby, Bob Ford and Head Coach Tony Pacheco who is the current Collegiate All-American 7s Head Coach, the Wildcats, are poised to continue their development as a premier rugby program.
